 Melissa Scott - Artist Statement Marking my early morning arrival, the dew blanketed the air with a new hope for yesterdays past. Poised at the gardens path, I could only imagine the naïve young life of a girl, charming and graceful, stripped and redressed, presented to King Louis XV, as he proclaims the future Queen of France to be “delightful”. Imagine, at the tender age of nineteen being crowned Queen of a foreign country doomed for failure.
